KANDHAR, Afghanistan, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Afghan National Police (ANP) have arrested 15 militants loyal to the Taliban in southern Afghanistan's Kandahar province, local police said Thursday.
"The ANP arrested 15 Taliban militants, including Yahya, a Taliban local leader, and two landmine experts during search operations in various parts of Kandahar," Jamal Barekzay, a provincial police spokesman, told Xinhua.
The detainees have confessed to crimes during the primary enquiry, said the source.
The Taliban militants have not commented on the report.
