DAR ES SALAAM, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- Tanzania will host the 50th Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Africa regional conference planned from Aug. 30 to Sept. 5, the east African nation's Parliament Speaker, Job Ndugai, said on Thursday.

"Over 400 delegates from Commonwealth member states will attend the conference to be held in Zanzibar," Ndugai told a news conference in the capital Dodom.

Ndugai said the conference will be attended by speakers, deputy speakers and ambassadors from member states of the CPA, an organization which works to support good governance, democracy and human rights.

"Parliamentary speakers and ambassadors from countries which are not members of the Commonwealth have also been invited to the conference to be graced by Zanzibar President Ali Mohamed Shein," said the Speaker.

He said more than 13 countries have already confirmed to participate in the conference which he said will help to promote the country's abundant tourist attractions.

"The preparations for the conference were in full swing," said him.
