NAIROBI, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- Kenya has made five changes to the team that will compete against Zambia in the regional rugby 15s Victoria Cup in Nairobi on Saturday.

Brian Amaitsa, Ian Njenga, Eliud Mulakoli, Samuel Asati, and Francis Mwita will all have their chance to debut for the national team.

Head coach Paul Odera said the team is upbeat to secure another win against the Zambians at their home ground.

"We didn't play well away. We need to be clinical. On defense, it's about closing the space as quickly as possible," Odera said on Friday.

Team captain Curtis Lilako is confident, saying "there's a good feeling in the squad. We are ready for the match. Guys who played in Brazil World Junior Trophy have seen what rugby is all about. The mix of experience and talent is good to go with."

Meanwhile, Kenya Sevens team has intensified training ahead of the Safari Sevens tournament in October and the 2019 Africa Sevens, which also serves as qualifiers for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
