WINDHOEK, Aug. 30 (Xinhua) -- The Namibia Heart Foundation was launched on Friday to create awareness about heart diseases and their associated risks.
Working with volunteers around the country, the foundation further aims to create an inclusive, safe and empowered community for individuals suffering from cardiac diseases and strokes by helping, guiding and supporting them and their families, said Namibia Minister of Health and Social Services Kalumbi Shangula
Cardiovascular diseases are prevalent in Namibia, contributing up to 30 percent of the total deaths in the country, Shangula said.
