SKOPJE, Aug. 31 (Xinhua) -- Lawmakers of North Macedonia voted in Saturday's parliament session with 64 votes in favor of the election of Nina Angelovska as the minister of finance, Macedonian Information Agency (MIA) reported.
According to MIA, 64 lawmakers voted in favor and 18 against the election of Angelovska. The lawmakers also voted on Saturday for the election of Hisen Xhemaili as the new minister without portfolio in charge of improving the investment climate.
North Macedonia's parliament has been discussing in the last two days the new candidates for ministers presented by Prime Minister Zoran Zaev.
According to Zaev, Angelovska and Xhemaili will present a serious reinforcement of government's capacity.
The parliament session was dominated by debates between the ruling coalition and the opposition lawmakers regarding the country's economy, investments, rule of law and early elections.
On June 23, Zaev announced the government reshuffle which involved the change of six ministers. He also said that he would take over the post of finance minister, replacing Dragan Tevdovski for a certain period of time, while also serving as prime minister.
Soon after Zaev said he would hold the post of finance minister up until the election of a new minister, in accordance with the law on government.
