BANGKOK, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Constitutional Court on Wednesday accepted a petition filed against 32 opposition MPs for allegedly holding shares of firms which might run media business, yet their legislative duties have not been suspended, pending court rulings.

The Constitutional Court resolved to take into account the petition lodged by a Palang Pracharath Party MP against the 32 Pheu Thai Party and Future Forward Party MPs for allegedly holding shares of firms which might run media business which is prohibited by the constitution for legislators.

If finally found guilty by court of practically running media business or making profits from it, those lawmakers might possibly lose their MP status under the constitution's Section 82, Section 98 and Section 101.

Though the memorandums of association of the MPs' firms have media business, the Constitutional Court has not found any of the accused legislators having practically run media business or made profits from it, thus the court allowed them to continue to perform as MP.
