LISBON, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- An open-air fire broke out on Thursday in Lisbon, local media reported.

A "considerable" fire in the center of Lisbon started on Avenida Mouzinho de Albuquerque, in the Sapadores district of Lisbon, and alert was given around 12 o'clock, said a source from the firefighters, quoted by the website of Publico, a Portuguese daily newspaper.

The source said that 39 operatives, supported by 19 vehicles, are fighting the fire, trying to prevent it from reaching homes.
