KHARTOUM, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Sudan's Finance Minister Ibrahim Elbadawi on Sunday announced a 200-day economic program to address the urgent issues in the Sudanese economy.

"Of our priorities is to implement an economic program of 200 days based on five areas," Elbadawi told reporters after the oath-taking ceremony of ministers of Sudan's transitional cabinet on Sunday.

He said the five areas include stabilizing the macroeconomy, restructuring the budget, stabilizing the prices, lessening the living burden, addressing the issues of youth, and shifting from humanitarian aid to sustainable development at the conflict zones.

The minister explained that the overall goal is to build Sudan's macroeconomy able to achieve added value through industries.

Ministers of Sudan's transitional cabinet on Sunday were sworn in before the Chairman of the Sovereign Council Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan.

Altogether 18 ministers took the constitutional oath before Al-Burhan in the presence of the Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok, while two ministers are expected to be appointed later for the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.

Following the ceremony, the cabinet and the Sovereign Council convened a joint meeting.

This is Sudan's first cabinet after the ouster of former President Omar al-Bashir in April.
