KIEV, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Ukraine Du Wei and the head of Lviv regional state administration Markian Malskyy opened the Chinese Day in Lviv in western Ukraine on Monday, saying the events were organized to bring the two countries closer and open new opportunities for cooperation.
Some of the events of the China Day were dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. One of them was a photo exhibition telling the story of China's achievements. The exhibition was opened by the Chinese ambassador to Ukraine.
More than 130 photographs show the historic events and great achievements of China since 1949, illustrating the significant success of China's cooperation with the world.
"We see China's great achievements and today's photo exhibition shows a lot of them. Ukraine is a developing country which is around 30 years old and still has a lot to learn and it's very pleasant that the exhibition in this part of the room shows we have much to learn especially in the technological area as well as fighting poverty and developing the country. And we will, of course, take into account the best practices which China has to offer," Malskyy said after the opening of the photo exhibition.
Also, the Lviv regional state administration will continue to bring people of China and Ukraine closer through economic cooperation, tourism and different projects.
An economic forum with the participation of more than 10 companies from China also took place in Lviv on this day.
The China Day ended with a gala concert at the Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater.
