BANGKOK, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Thailand regards the situation in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) as China's internal affairs and fully supports the efforts by the Hong Kong SAR government in resolving the situation, said a statement released Wednesday by the Thai government.
Thailand is closely following the situation in the Hong Kong SAR, the statement said. "Recognizing China's 'One Country Two Systems' principle, we regard the situation in Hong Kong SAR as China's internal affairs."
Thailand fully supports the efforts by the chief executive of the Hong Kong SAR and the Hong Kong SAR government in resolving the situation through dialogue and inclusive engagement with all stakeholders, the statement noted.
Thailand trusts that the government of the Hong Kong SAR will be able to resolve the situation peacefully for the sustainable well-being of the Hong Kong SAR and its people who envisage a bright future ahead for themselves and their children, the statement concluded.
