Malaysia's natural rubber production up 6.4 pct in July

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia's natural rubber production in July surged 63.3 percent from June to 60,088 tons, official data showed Friday.

Malaysian Statistics Department said in a statement that the production also rose 6.4 percent on yearly basis.

Exports of Malaysia's natural rubber jumped 23.3 percent month-on-month to 62,273 tons in July. China remains as the main natural rubber export destination, accounted for 60.3 percent of total exports in July, followed by Germany (7.9 percent), the United States (4.1 percent), Finland (4 percent) and Iran (2.7 percent).

Meanwhile, natural rubber stocks increased 10.1 percent month-on-month to 182,358 tons in July.

Average price of latex concentrate and Standard Malaysian Rubber 20 (S.M.R.20) fell 4.1 percent and 6.9 percent month-on-month to 476.23 sen and 580.82 sen per kilogram respectively in July.
