DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tanzanian Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa on Friday warned people against involvement in corrupt practices during civic elections to be held across the east African nation on November 24.

Adjourning the National Assembly's two-week meeting in the capital Dodoma, Majaliwa also warned that people should not cause chaos during the civic polls.

Majaliwa said stakeholders in the civic polls from political parties, government institutions and non-governmental organizations should read and understand the polls regulations.

"Anybody who is implicated in corrupt practices or breaching peace during the polls will face the full force of the law," Majaliwa told the House.

He urged all eligible Tanzanians to fill nomination forms that allow them to vie for various leadership posts.

At the same time, Majaliwa urged defense and security organs to make sure that the polls would be held in peaceful environment.

On Wednesday, the government announced names of 184 public officers who will oversee the civic polls in Tanzania's mainland.

A public notice issued by the Minister of State in the President's Office responsible for Regional Administration and Local Government, Selemani Jafo, said the 184 public officers will supervise the polls across the country.

In April, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Palamagamba Kabudi, warned individuals and political parties against involvement in electoral fraud in the November civic polls and general elections in 2020.

Kabudi urged the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bureau to deal accordingly with individuals or political parties implicated in electoral fraud.
