BANGKOK, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- Thai Highway police on Thursday intercepted a pickup truck in the northeastern province of Nakorn Ratchasima and seized 318 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine or ice.
However, the driver felt the police chase, abandoned his vehicle and fled.
Police said authorities were tipped off about a large batch of narcotics being sent through Nakorn Ratchasima to southern Thailand.
Police said they spotted a suspicious pickup with a Bangkok license plate.
After a chase by police, the driver abandoned his vehicle with the engine still running.
Police found 318 kilograms of "ice' in the pick-up truck.
A police hunt is launched for the driver and his drug-trafficking accomplices.
