NEW YORK, Sept. 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced on Thursday that the United States had imposed sanctions against Russian individuals and entities supporting the Syrian government.
The United States Department of Treasury designated Russian entities for facilitating the shipments of jet fuel to Russian military forces in Syria, Pompeo said at a press conference in New York.
The targets included a Russian company, three Russians, and five Russian flagged vessels, according to a statement issued by the Treasury.
As a result of the sanctions, all property and interests of these targeted individuals and entities that are in the United States would be blocked. Also, U.S. persons are generally prohibited from all dealings that involve any property of these individuals and entities.
