BEIJING, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of foreign countries and international organizations have sent a multitude of congratulatory messages to General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Chinese President Xi Jinping to convey their best wishes on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The following is an edited summary of some of these messages.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said he extends his warmest congratulations on the occasion, noting that over the past 70 years, China has made remarkable achievements in such fields as economy, society as well as science and technology.

China, he added, enjoys a well-deserved high prestige on the international stage, and plays a very important role in solving major global problems.

He noted that under the leadership of Xi, China is striving to complete the building of a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2021 and turn itself into a great modern socialist country by 2049, two goals set at the 19th National Congress of the CPC.

Russia and China are each other's irreplaceable strategic partner, he said, adding that he values his friendship with Xi, and will continue to work closely with his Chinese counterpart to create more benefits for the two peoples.

U.S. President Donald Trump, congratulating China on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, said he wishes the Chinese people peace and prosperity.

British Queen Elizabeth II said she is delighted to send congratulations on the occasion of the PRC's National Day and wishes the Chinese people happiness and good health.

Pakistani President Arif Alvi said that under Xi's extraordinary leadership, China will continue to forge ahead along the historic journey of national rejuvenation.

Pakistan, he added, will forever stand with China as a reliable friend and partner.

Indian President Ram Nath Kovind said that as two major ancient civilizations and developing countries, India and China have been playing an important role in the global political and economic order.

India-China relations are advancing with new vitality, he said, adding that he wishes the PRC prosperity.

First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said the 70th anniversary of the PRC's founding is an important milestone in China's path of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects.

China, he noted, has kept pace with the times to push forward reform and opening-up, actively conducted constructive cooperation in the international arena, and created numerous miracles of development.

He expressed his confidence that the Chinese people, under the leadership of the CPC, will surely achieve the two centenary goals.
