Afghan forces kill 6 militants in eastern Ghazni province

GHANZI, Afghanistan, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Afghan forces in crackdown against militants have killed six Taliban fighters, including three foreign fighters, in the eastern Ghazni province, provincial government spokesman Aref Nuri said Wednesday.

The security forces, according to the official, launched cleanup operations in Qarabaghi and Arzo neighborhoods in the outskirt of Ghazni city early morning, and so far have killed six armed insurgents.

Without identifying the nationalities of the foreign fighters, the official asserted that the cleanup operations would continue until complete security returned to the area.

Taliban militants haven't commented yet.
