BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's International Flower Show (BIFS) 2019, scheduled on Oct. 23-27, drew exhibitors from China, Thailand and Vietnam as well as from local companies, a senior Brunei official said on Saturday.
It will feature flower exhibitions, creative landscaping, workshops, activities and competitions.
According to the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, Hj Kamarudzaman, with the theme "Brunei in Bloom," the inaugural Brunei International Flower Show aims to highlight and provide an avenue to showcase Brunei's floriculture industry and to provide another tourism product for horticulture enthusiasts and visitors to look forward to in Brunei every year.
The five-day event will include various activities located around the vicinity of the Horticulture Business Centre. Over 100 varieties of locally grown and imported plants and flowers will also be on sale during the period.
The event was joined by local and international exhibitors showcasing various products and items.
The event also acts as a platform to widen market opportunities including providing a venue for business matching.
"The event is also a platform to showcase the latest technology and innovation in the floriculture industry for entrepreneurs and the public," said the official.
