SARAJEVO, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- "Quick Response 19", a peace support operation exercise led by European Union Force Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR), officially started here on Sunday afternoon at EUFOR Headquarters in the BiH capital with a military parade.

At the opening ceremony, Commander of EUFOR, Major General Reinhard Trischak, said that the exercise will bring BiH's law enforcement agencies, BiH's Armed Forces and EUFOR to test the capability to be mutually supporting.

Trischak added that the exercise, which will run towards Oct. 11, involved soldiers from 8 countries, including Austria, Italy, Hungary, Romania, and the United Kingdom.

For his part, BiH's deputy security minister Mijo Kresic said BiH's police agencies will participate in the implementation of the exercise scenarios at Sarajevo and Banja Luka International Airports.

"We expect that this year's exercise will demonstrate the readiness of all actors to efficiently react in cases of complex security threats," Kresic said.
