HANOI, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam posted the budget collection of nearly 1,094 trillion Vietnamese dong (47.6 billion U.S. dollars) in the first nine months of this year, up 10.1 percent on-year, the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance announced on Friday.
Domestic revenue grew 11.2 percent from the same period last year to 882.4 trillion Vietnamese dong (38.4 billion U.S. dollars), while revenue from import-export activities rose by 9.4 percent to 163.9 trillion Vietnamese dong (7.1 billion U.S. dollars), according to the ministry.
Between January and September, Vietnam's budget spending stood at roughly 1,030 trillion Vietnamese dong (44.8 billion U.S. dollars), up 3.8 percent on-year. Specifically, spending for investment and development totaled 192.1 trillion Vietnamese dong (8.4 billion U.S. dollars), while interest payments reached roughly 85.5 trillion Vietnamese dong (3.7 billion U.S. dollars) and regular spending stood at nearly 733.8 trillion Vietnamese dong (31.9 billion U.S. dollars).
Vietnam aims to lower its budget deficit to 220 trillion Vietnamese dong (9.6 billion U.S. dollars) in 2019, or 3.6 percent of gross domestic product projected for this year, down from 3.7 percent last year, according to the country's top legislature.
