KABUL, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- A total of 1,232 youth after completion of a 12-week military training course and receiving certificates have been commissioned to the national army, said an army spokesman Barat Ali Rezai here on Sunday.

"The newly graduated youths have completed the three-month military training course in Kabul Military Training Center (KMTC) here and have been commissioned to the army to serve the nation," Rezai said in a ceremony to distribute graduation certificate to the newly graduated soldiers.

Afghanistan has some 350,000-strong security and defense forces that includes national army, police and sister security apparatus.

Afghan security forces have been fighting a complicated and tough war to overcome militant groups including Taliban and like-minded outfits to ensure lasting peace in the militancy-plagued Afghanistan.
