JUBA, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- The government of South Sudan on Sunday announced that regional leaders will arrive in Juba on October 14 to anticipate peace talks between Sudan's government and armed groups.
Tut Kew Gatluak, presidential security advisor of South Sudan, said Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta are among the leader who are expected to attend the peace talks.
Gatluak told journalists after receiving the first batch of Sudanese peace delegations at Juba international airport that the government of South Sudan is ready to receive the leaders who will be arriving in Juba on Monday.
In July, Mohamed Hamdan Daqlu, the deputy head of Sudan's Transitional Military Council (TMC) met with President Salva Kiir in Juba in order to start mediation talks with the armed opposition groups.
Several rounds of peace talks have failed to end the conflict.
In September, Sudan's government and armed groups agreed to hold peace talks on October 14, under a mediation initiative fronted by South Sudan's President Salva Kiir.
