KHARTOUM, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Sudan's newly-appointed chief justice and attorney general on Sunday took the constitutional oath before Chairman of the Sovereign Council Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan.
Nemat Abdallah Mohamed Khair on Sunday evening took the constitutional oath as chief justice before Al-Burhan, while Taj Al-Sir Ali Al-Hebr took the oath as attorney general, the sovereign council said in a statement.
A number of members of the sovereign council and secretary-general of the Presidency were present at the oath-taking ceremony.
On Oct. 10, the sovereign council issued a decision appointing Khair as the chief justice and Al-Hebr as the attorney general.
Khair is the first Sudanese female to assume the post.
