PRAGUE, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- One person was burnt to death and 10 others were injured, including two in severe condition, in a traffic accident on the D1 motorway from the Czech capital Prague to Czech second largest city Brno on Sunday evening, according to local media reports.
The accident happened at about 7:30 p.m. local time. Five cars and a tank truck crashed on the motorway. The truck overturned across both lines of the motorway and went ablaze. Four cars were burnt down.
The fire has been put out and the motorway has been closed in both directions. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Following the accident, a policeman who diverted traffic on the motorway was hit by a car and suffered serious injuries. He was helicoptered to a Prague hospital.
