ACCRA, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- A team of Ghana's investment promotion officials visited Colombia to explore business and investment opportunities available for both countries, said the Ghana Investments Promotion Center (GIPC) on Tuesday.

The 18-member delegation led by Robert Ahomka-Lindsay, Ghana's deputy minister of trade and industry, will showcase Ghana's investment opportunities and new industrialization agenda to a business and investor community in Colombia, said the CIPC.

Ghana's new development agenda seeks to use industrialization as the main driver for growth and job creation.

During their five-day visit in Colombia, the Ghanaian delegation will discuss with their Colombian counterparts such issues as agriculture and agro-processing, financial services, information, and communications technology and infrastructure development, said the GIPC.

Colombia opened its diplomatic mission to Ghana in 2013 after the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1988.

The Ambassador of Colombia to Ghana Claudia Turbay Quintero said she feels hopeful that the trip will be a success.

"We will ensure that the two sides identify areas of cooperation and business investments," she added.
