MOSCOW, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Families of those killed in Saturday's dam collapse in Russia's Krasnoyarsk region will receive one million rubles (15,675 U.S. dollars) each as compensations, said authorities on Sunday.
The money will be given in the form of a one-time insurance payment, Sputnik news agency reported, citing a statement by the Russian Labor Ministry.
In addition, the victims will get another one-time insurance payment, and those who are dependent on the victims will get monthly insurance payments, both in an individual amount, according to the statement.
A total of 15 people were killed and another five remain missing after a dam collapsed in the Kuraginsky district of Russia's Krasnoyarsk region on Saturday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered all necessary measures to be taken to help people affected and identify the cause of the incident, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
Investigators have initiated a criminal probe into the incident on the grounds of possible violations of security rules.
