BERLIN, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- German police on Thursday launched a major operation in four federal states against a Lebanese clan suspected of trafficking migrants to Germany.
The operation was carried out by about 400 federal policemen, including special forces, local media FOCUS Online reported.
A total of 29 properties of the suspects were searched, and rifles and some stolen goods were found.
The clan were allegedly involved in 26 Syrians trafficking cases, in which each paid them from 4,000 euros (4442.42 U.S. dollars) to 15,000 euros (16,659.08 U.S. dollars) for a journey from Beirut airport to Germany or Netherlands with fake visas.
