GABORONE, Oct. 25 (Xinhua) -- Botswana's Chief Justice Terrence Rannowane announced on Friday that the ruling Botswana Democratic Party has won the country's 2019 general elections after securing 29 of 57 parliamentary seats.
With the ruling party's victory, the country's incumbent President Mokgweetsi Masisi secured a five-year term in office.
The country on Wednesday held its general elections for the 57 seats of the national assembly and 490 local government representatives.
