KABUL, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Four suspected Taliban insurgents were arrested during an operation in Afghanistan's eastern Ghazni province during Friday night, authorities said on Saturday.

"The arrest was made after Special Operations Forces of National Directorate of Security (NDS) launched a night raid operation in Zahiddan village, Ab Band district. The raid was conducted in accordance with a confirmed intelligence tip-off and no weapon was fired during the operation," NDS, the country's primary intelligence agency, said in a statement.

Three militants' hideouts and nine motorcycles were destroyed during the raid in the restive province, according to the statement.

The Afghan security forces have recently beefed up security operations against the militants who have been attempting to take the territory and consolidate their positions in the countryside ahead of winter.

The Taliban militants, controlling parts of the mountainous province, use rugged terrains and mountains as hideouts and frequently launch hit-and-run attacks against the security forces.

The militant group hasn't made comments on the report so far.
