BERLIN, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were almost unchanged at the start of trading on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index rising by 4.63 points, or 0.04 percent, opening at 12,946.34 points.
The biggest winner among Germany's largest 30 companies at the start of trading was dialysis specialist Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), increasing 2.63 percent, followed by its parent company Fresenius with 1.95 percent and stock exchange company Deutsche Boerse with 0.67 percent.
Fresenius and FMC published their business figures for the third quarter (Q3) on Tuesday and confirmed their business forecasts for the financial year.
Following the announcement of a "solid" Q3 by Fresenius on Tuesday, shares of Fresenius and FMC both shot up by more than 5 percent shortly after trading started.
The German stock exchange company Deutsche Boerse had published its Q3 results after trading on Monday. According to Deutsche Boerse, the exchange had profited from "temporarily higher equity market volatility" and increased net revenues by 13 percent to 734 million euros (813.2 million U.S. dollars).
On Tuesday, Beiersdorf, a consumer goods company, announced an increase in turnover of 6 percent to around 5.7 billion euros in Q3 and confirmed its business guidance for 2019. Losing 1.1 percent, the DAX listed company was among the top three losers at early trading.
The euro declined by 0.12 percent on Tuesday morning local time, trading at 1.1085 U.S. dollars.
