TOKYO, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were mixed Wednesday morning as some investors were in a circumspect mood ahead of the outcome of the U.S. Federal Reserve's two-day policy setting meeting ending later in the day, while others opted to take profits following the Nikkei's recent winning streak.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 81.38 points, or 0.35 percent, from Tuesday to 22,892.75.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, edged 0.42 points, or 0.03 percent, higher at 1,663.10.

Iron and steel, and oil and coal product led notable decliners, while securities brokerage and pharmaceutical issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break.
