PUL-E-KHUMRI, Afghanistan, Nov. 2 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people, including two security personnel, were injured as a blast rocked the capital of northern Baghlan province on Saturday, provincial police spokesman Jawed Basharat said.

"The blast occurred next to the provincial police chief department in Pul-e-Khumri city at 08:40 a.m. local time, injuring 11 people, including two security personnel and nine civilians," Basharat told Xinhua.

Without providing more details, the official said an investigation had been initiated on the incident.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Omar Wardak, the head of provincial hospital in Pul-e-Khumri city, said the injured had been taken to the hospital for medical treatment.
