ZAGREB, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- Enlargement of the European Union (EU) to southeast Europe is one of the priorities of Croatia's EU presidency, said the country's foreign minister on Monday.

"The countries of Southeast Europe deserve a European perspective and Croatia must lend a hand, and supporting that part of Europe, our immediate neighborhood, also guarantees our security," Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman said at a working meeting with ambassadors of EU member states.

The minister stressed that Croatia's priority is, among other things, a Europe that is connected in transport, infrastructure and digital field and is in step with the fourth industrial revolution.

He noted that Croatia would be neutral in terms of the presidency, as it is responsible for all EU member states.

Croatia assumes the presidency of the Council of EU on Jan. 1, 2020.
