PRAGUE, Nov. 4 (Xinhua) -- The government of Czech Republic is considering tightening regulations on drones and plans to ask all drones owners to register their equipment, according to local reports on Monday.

So far, registration is only mandatory for commercial drones as the drones for commercial use all have to acquire a label with the registration mark and the owner's contact information.

But a new draft prepared by the Ministry of Transport will ask all drones to register. The operation of an unregistered machine will be subject to a fine of up to 5 million crowns (217,000 U.S. dollars), according to the draft. At the same time, the draft also envisaged closer supervision of the drone operation.

The ministry plans to submit the draft regulation by the end of this year and the drone registration should then be mandatory from the middle of next year, Czech TV reported.

In addition to stricter registration system, all restrictions already applicable to the operation of drones, including 13 no-fly zones, will continue to apply. Unmanned aircraft are not allowed to fly, for example, over Prague Castle, nuclear power plants, or near airports.
