Collision shuts down highway in Canada, casualties unknown

OTTAWA, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- A serious multi-vehicle collision shut down a highway north of Grande Prairie in the Canadian province of Alberta, local television network CTV reported Wednesday.

Witnesses described the scene as chaotic and traumatizing. The exact casualties remain unknown.

Photos showed dozens of smashed cars and injured passengers on the highway in snow. Fog in the area was thick when the crash occurred.
