AUCKLAND, New Zealand, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- The inaugural New Zealand Warmblood Association (NZWA) Performance Horse Auction will be held at Equitana Auckland on November 23.

It was announced that the 13 horses under the hammer cover dressage, jumping and eventing and are all impeccably bred and range in age from yearlings to a nine-year-old Friesian sport horse who is competing in Level 5 dressage.

There are some well known horses on offer including Hold Up Premier, Landioso, Glasgow VH Merelsnest VDL and Sangster who have all made their marks in the world of jumping.

"One goal of the NZWA is to present breeders to warmblood sport horses with a stud book system that is comparable to those in Europe and North America. We see this auction of New Zealand warmblood horses as part of that system," said NZWA president Jody Hartstone.

Hopes are high the auction will become a regular fixture on the New Zealand calendar for both breeders and buyers.
