YANGON, Nov. 19 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar is set to hold a flower festival in Pyin Oo Lwin, a town in Mandalay region, event organizer said Tuesday.

The month-long flower festival to be held at December Garden for the first time will last from Dec. 18 to Jan. 18, 2020 and will feature 400,000 floral plants including 30 local species and 30 Thailand's.

Works of local floral decorators such as flower waterfalls, flower carts and heart-shaped gardens will be displayed at the festival to bring about environmental awareness among people.

The 20-hectare garden is so designed that visitors can take recreation, while enjoying the natural scenic views of the garden.

Pyin Oo Lwin is one of the tourist attractions in Mandalay region due to its cool weather, organic food and tourist sites.
