COPENHAGEN, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- As a spectacular Christmas tree adorned with 3,000 sparkling crystals was unveiled to the public in Denmark's most famous amusement park, the Christmas season in the Nordic country starts to intensify its attraction with more beauties.

Tivoli Gardens, located in the center of the capital city of Copenhagen, has been celebrating the 25th anniversary opening of its traditionally themed Christmas market since Saturday.

Tivoli's Christmas market, including amusements and over 60 Christmas stalls, runs from Nov. 16, 2019 to Jan. 5, 2020.

Besides over 1 million multicolored lights and a continuous, overhead and dangling light chain encrusted with 130,000 lights, a big Christmas tree with 3,000 Swarovski crystals worth approximately 1 million Danish krones (about 150,000 U.S. dollars) was shining with dazzling brilliance in the very center of the park.

The 10-meter high tree was designed by renowned Austrian glass manufacturer Swarovski and decorators took 10 days to beautify the tree, to which Swarovski promised to give a unique and "exclusive Nordic look."

Bunches of excited guests took selfies in front of the bejeweled tree through the days.

"The lights are amazing, and for Christmas, it's the best thing you want to see. I can stay here all day long and stare at it, to be honest," Ioanna Nomidou, a visitor from Greece, told Xinhua.

The obligatory fanfare of a marching Tivoli Youth Guard and music wafting on the breeze from the park's stages serenaded the first visitors, as they walked starry-eyed and enchanted through a bedazzling maze of Yuletide decorations.

Comprising 100 boys and girls aged 8-16, Tivoli Youth Guard celebrated its 175th anniversary in this August. The world's oldest youth guard is widely listed as a must-see attraction for visitors to Copenhagen.

Tivoli was founded 176 years ago and is the second oldest seasonal amusement park in the world only after Bakken amusement park, which opened in 1583 also in Copenhagen.
