WINDHOEK, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Electoral Commission of Namibia(ECN) has set the logistics necessary to carry out the ballot and is raring to go for the November 27 Presidential and Parliamentary ballot, the electoral body said Wednesday.

ECN chairperson Advocate Notemba Tjipueja told election observers and members of the diplomatic community in Namibia that all the necessary legal, strategic and logistics procedures needed to prepare Namibia have been met.

"I am here to inform you that ECN is now in a position to execute the mandate of elections. I also stand to tell you that the special voting exercise went smoothly and there were no incidences of violence," she said.

The ECN chief also gave assurance the ECN will execute a free, fair and credible vote.

"I call on all members of political parties and independent candidates to go on their campaign trail peacefully and in a manner guided by law, " she said.

The Namibian election is expected to be observed by several observer missions from SADC, African Union, EU and many other regions invited by the ECN.
