BUDAPEST, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- The IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) World Junior Championships and women fit model world cup 2019 opened here on Friday.
"A record number of athletes will be present at the bodybuilding and fitness junior World Championships here at the University of Physical Education," said Lajos Mocsai, the president of the hosting university.
"I am proud to announce that Budapest will host the biggest World Championships in bodybuilding for this age group from Friday to Sunday, and the university will be taking its part in the event," he added.
He noted: "The University of Physical Education wants to develop a tradition of holding the World Cup for ages 16 to 23."
The number of athletes is significantly higher than that of similar sports competitions so far, according to Mocsai.
On Saturday, the athletes will go to the semifinals, and the finals will be held on Sunday.
