KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- A total of 10 militants were killed as a clash erupted in Archi district of northern Afghanistan's Kunduz province on Sunday, provincial governor's spokesman Esmatullah Muradi said.
The clash, according to the official, flared up early morning in Qarluq area of the restive district and lasted for a while, leaving 10 militants including a Taliban commander named Mawlawi Mubashir alias Mawlawi Abida dead.
Five security personnel and six militants have been wounded in the fighting.
Without providing more details, Muradi said that the security forces would continue to chase the insurgents in the district and its vicinity.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of Kunduz province haven't commented yet.
