Zambian leader says visit to United Arab Emirates to reap tangible gains

LUSAKA, Nov. 26 (Xinhua) -- Zambian President Edgar Lungu on Tuesday said his two-day working visit to the United Arab Emirates will result in tangle benefits for the southern African nation.

Lungu left for the United Arab Emirates on Monday for a two-day working visit where he was expected to meet officials from both the government and the private sector.

The Zambian leader, in a posting on his Facebook page, said Zambia stands to gain from deepening and broadening the strategic relationship which exists between the two countries.

He said the United Arab Emirates has recorded fast-paced economic development and transformation in a relatively short time and that Zambia was keen to learn from the nation.

"During this tour of duty, we will share the available opportunities Zambia has to offer and other areas of cooperation between Zambia and the United Arab Emirates," he said.

During the visit, the Zambian leader will meet investors from Abu Dhabi Fund for Development and the United Arab Emirates Chamber of Commerce.

He will also meet other investors who have expressed interest in investing in key sectors of Zambia's economy.
