ULAN BATOR, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Mongolian edition of "China -- The New Long March" was released here on Friday, as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of China-Mongolia diplomatic ties.
Chinese Ambassador to Mongolia Xing Haiming said at the ceremony that he hopes the publication and distribution of the book in Mongolia "will open a new window for Mongolian readers to understand Chinese history, culture and development."
"I believe that the book can provide our readers with a deeper understanding of the history of the Long March and the great changes and prosperity on China's modern new Long March," said Menerel Chimedtseye, translator of the book, also a professor at the National University of Mongolia.
The book, published by China's Qingdao Publishing Group, includes hundreds of photos and paintings by Chinese and international correspondents, which illustrate changes along the route of the Long March that took place in the 1930s.
Around 100 copies of the book were donated to the National Library of Mongolia as well as universities and schools at the ceremony.
