ULAN BATOR, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- Mongolia and Russia have signed several documents to further strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation between the two nations, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.

The cooperation documents covering various sectors, including politics, energy, geology, railway and agriculture, were signed after talks between Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh and his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday, the ministry said.

Khurelsukh is on an official visit to Russia from Tuesday to Friday at the invitation of Medvedev, which comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Mongolia three months ago.

During Putin's visit, the two neighbors signed a permanent treaty on friendly relations, and lifted bilateral ties to form a comprehensive strategic partnership.
