6.1-magnitude quake hits 160km WNW of Hihifo, Tonga: USGS

NEW YORK, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- A 6.1-magnitude earthquake jolted 160km WNW of Hihifo, Tonga at 15:42:48 GMT on Friday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 24.5 km, was initially determined to be at 15.15 degrees south latitude and 175.003 degrees west longitude.
