MANILA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Vietnam men's Olympic football team beat Cambodia 4-0 here on Saturday, joining Indonesia in the final of the 2019 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games football tournament.

The Golden Star Warriors scored their opener on 20 minutes through Nguyen Tien Linh's close range header from a cross by Ha Duc Chinh.

National team striker Ha dominated the rest of the first half, scoring a one-on-one chance in the 26th minute and heading home at the near post during added time to complete his hat-trick.

With one foot in the final, Vietnam made sure of their progression in the second half, after Reung Bunheing's own goal in the 69th minute made the score 4-0.

In the day's other semifinal, Indonesia defeated Myanmar 4-2 after extra-time, with the scores having been deadlocked at 2-2 after 90 minutes.

Osvaldo Haay, the competition's leading scorer with eight goals, helped Indonesia take the lead again in the 101st minute, and teammate Evan Darmono made sure of the win with a volley from inside the box a few minutes later.

"This is a very dramatic game, but this is football. After the game, we are ready to face any team in the final," said Indra Syafri, head coach of Indonesia, adding that he was proud of his team for fighting until the end and taking the win.

Vietnam and Indonesia previously met in the group stage of the tournament, with Vietnam taking the spoils with a 2-1 win.

The final will be held on December 10, with Cambodia and Myanmar competing in the bronze medal match that same day.
