COPENHAGEN, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- Wind turbines and the sale of a pharmaceutical patent contributed to a balance of payments surplus in October, said figures released by Statistics Denmark on Monday.
In October, Denmark's seasonally adjusted current account recorded a surplus of 23.6 billion Danish krones (3.5 billion U.S. dollars).
According to Statistics Denmark, although the increase in the export of services contributed to the rise, it is the export of goods that still accounted for more than half of the total current account surplus.
Wind turbines and pharmaceutical products, and in particular a single payment from abroad for the sale of a Danish-owned patent, made a significant impact on the October figures.
Statistics Denmark also said that the country's exports increased by 7.5 percent year-on-year in October.
