Sino-Mongolian charity event helps households in Mongolia survive cold winter

ULAN BATOR, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- The Sino-Mongolian Foundation of Culture, Education and Social Development and the Union of Chinese Immigrants in Mongolia held an annual charity event called "Warm Winter" here on Saturday.

According to the organizers, the event aims to promote bilateral cooperation by helping low-income Mongolian households and Chinese immigrants in Mongolia survive the long and cold winter.

This year marks the seventh year the event is being held. White flour, rice, sugar, sunflower oil and other necessities worth 26 million Mongolian tugriks (9,545 U.S. dollars) were donated to 210 poor households in the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator, including 30 families of Chinese immigrants.

In total, 3,884 households in the city have benefited from the annual event over the past years.
