KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) -- Nine commuters were killed after a mini-bus fell down to a canal in Arghandab district of the southern Kandahar province on Friday, provincial government spokesman Bahir Ahmadi said.
According to the official, the victims, which include five women, three children and the driver were returning from a wedding party in the wee hours of Friday but the mini-bus they used to return home fell down to the canal and those aboard were drowned.
Since there were no rescue team all the commuters lost their lives and the people nearby villages went to the site in the morning to take out the bodies, the official added.
