BUCHAREST, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Klaus Iohannis was sworn in as Romanian president on Saturday for his second and final five-year term.
Iohannis told the two chambers of Parliament, gathered in a plenary sitting especially for his swearing-in ceremony, that he would invest his strength and skills in the next five years in trying to develop Romania.
"This is the moment of a new stage in Romania's development," he said, underlining that "we cannot afford to lose precious chances, valuable opportunities and a very precious time."
The head of state has shown that he would further encourage the development of the automotive industry, energy and energy infrastructure, the information and communications technology sector, as well as agriculture.
Iohannis, 60, was re-elected in the presidential run-off that took place on Nov. 24.
