CAIRO, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Egypt's lawmakers approved Sunday President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi's request to reshuffle some ministers in the government of Moustafa Madbouli, state-run MENA news agency reported.
The move came after the parliament read out, during its general session, a letter by President Sisi on his desire to reshuffle some ministers.
In the new cabinet reshuffle, Khaled Anani was appointed as Tourism and Antiquities minister, Omar Marwan as Justice minister, Hala el Saeed as Planning and Economic Development minister, Rania el Mashat as minister of International Cooperation.
The reshuffle also included Osama Heikal as Minister of State for Information, Mohamed Manar Enaba as Civil Aviation Minister, Nevine Kabbaj as Social Solidarity Minister, Nevine Gamea as Trade and Industry Minister, El Sayed Quseir as Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister and Alaa El Din Abul Hassan as Minister for Parliamentary Councils Affairs.
In November, Sisi swore in 16 new governors of whom 11 held senior security or army posts before their appointment.
According to the Egyptian constitution, the president can reshuffle the cabinet following consultation with the prime minister and with the approval of parliament by an absolute majority of attendees.
